A Girl on the Shore

Both Keisuke Isobe and Koume Satou are in the sixth grade and live in the same beach town, which has a reputation for having very little going on. Their scenario takes an unexpected turn, however, as Koume's crush turns out to be a heartbreaker. Both of them seek solace in one another in order to fill the emotional gaps that exist in their lives, and she begins a relationship with Keisuke, whom she had previously rejected, on the basis that it will have "no strings attached." Having a "friends with benefits" arrangement may be challenging, however, when genuine feelings emerge between the individuals involved. At this point, the effects of their connection begin to show on both the individuals involved and the people in their immediate environment. The visual novel Umibe no Onnanoko is an unflinching examination of love, relationships, and the psychological toll that will be exacted as a direct consequence of a choice to be made by two adolescents.
