Institute Benjamenta, or This Dream People Call Human Life

Jakob goes to the Institute Benjamenta, which is run by Johannes and Lisa Benjamenta, his brother and sister. He wants to learn how to be a servant. He studies with seven other men under Lisa. They learn strange things like how to move, draw circles, and be submissive. He asks for a room with more space. No other students come to school, and none of them leave to work. Johannes is unhappy, bossy, and not involved in how the school works. Lisa is beautiful, but at first she is very controlled, and then she seems like she is about to break. There's a bit of a smoky smell. Both Jakob and Lisa are attracted to Lisa. When winter comes, she stops moving. Things get worse, and Johannes says that this is all because Jakob came. Do things happen for a reason?
