Mademoiselle Paradis

Vienna in the 18th century. As a kid, Maria Theresia von Paradis, a skilled pianist and close friend of Mozart's, lost her sight. Maria is entrusted to Dr. Mesmer, a forward-thinking physician who provides her all the care and attention she requires, by the Paradis, who are desperate to heal their talented daughter. Maria gradually regains her sight thanks to the doctor's novel magnetic procedures. This miracle, however, comes at a cost: the woman's musical ability gradually deteriorates.
