Nazarin

The priest who chooses to leave his order and embark on a pilgrimage is named Nazarn. He conceals a prostitute wanted by the police for murder while living off handouts. She eventually catches up with him after she escapes from prison after he is cleared of suspicion. When a second woman joins the group, the former priest quickly gains a deeper understanding of human suffering than he had when wearing robes.
