Pit Stop

A dragracing street punk, rick Bowman, involves the attention of business man Grant Willard. Willard offers him as a stock car driver and bails him out of jail. Bowman accepts and enters the demolition derby-adjacent universe of"figure eight" rushing. The king of the figure eight track will be cocky hotshot Hawk Sidney. Bowman and Sidney clash. Hawk friend Jolene falls victim to Bowman's charm. Bowman's gaze shifts upon Ellen McLeod, winner racer Ed McLeod's wife. As Bowman moves up in the rankings, his esteem for his friends slips- giving way to obsession with becoming the very best.
