Black Books
Black Publications centres around the filthy tempered and eccentric bookshop owner Bernard Black. Bernard's dedication into the joys of drunkenness and wilful antagonism enriches and deepens both his life and of Manny, his assistant. Good, sweet and bearded, Manny is what that Bernard isn't and is punished by Bernard relentlessly for the crime of the present. They depend on each other for meaning as their earliest friend, Fran, is dependent on them.
Black Books is a haven of books, wine and conversation, the only threat to the group's peace and prosperity is their own limitless stupidity.
