I Spy
I is an American television secret-agent experience collection. It ran for three seasons on NBC from 1965 to 1968 and awakened Robert Culp because his trainer, Alexander Scott. The characters' travels as ostensible"tennis bums", Robinson playing with talented tennis as an amateur with the wealthy in return for food and lodging, and Scott tagging combined, provided a cover story advocating their roles since top agents to the Pentagon. Their work usually kept them busy chasing villains, spies, and women.
The powers behind the show were Morton Fine and authors David Friedkin and cinematographer Fouad stated. Where the show had been produced they formed Three F Productions under the aegis of Desilu Studios. Fine and Friedkin were both co-producers and head authors, and wrote the broadcasts for 16 episodes, one of which Friedkin guided. Friedkin also dabbled in acting and appeared in 2 episodes.
Actor-producer Sheldon Leonard, best known for playing gangster roles in the 1940s and'50s, was the producer. He also played with a part and looked in a show as himself in a cameo. Additionally, he served throughout the sequence as occasional manager and led one episode.
