Jack of All Trades
Jack of All Trades is a syndicated action-comedy television show that aired for two seasons in 2000. It comprised the Back2Back Action Hour with Cleopatra 2525, and both shows were significant for being the first American non-animated action series to be created in the half-hour format since the 1970s. In the middle of its second season, the show was canceled. The story takes place around the turn of the nineteenth century on the fictitious French-controlled island of Pulau-Pulau in the East Indies. President Jefferson dispatched Jack Stiles, an American secret agent. He meets his British contact and love interest, English spy Emilia Rothschild, while there. Together, they struggle to defeat Napoleon and other dangers to the United States. In the eyes of the general public, Jack is Emilia's attaché, but when the occasion calls for it, he changes into a masked hero known as The Daring Dragoon. The sitcom included several running gags, such as Jack being responsible for many key historical events but not receiving credit, Emilia producing a miracle innovation in an evident deus ex machina, sexual puns and innuendos, and Jack and Emilia's continuing romantic tension.
