Life of Crime
Life of Crime revolves round women officer called Denise Woods. Set over a period of three decades (beginning with the Brixton Riots of 1985), the play follows Denise as she rises through the ranks of the Metropolitan Police Service. She struggles in an extremely male-orientated profession where sexism is rife and female officers must fight to get accepted. However, as dawn breaks one September morning, Denise accompanies DS Ray Deans into some crime scene to detect teenager Anna's strangled, battered and bruised body. Having had a previous encounter with the teenager, Denise is decided to bring Anna's killer . Denise works against the clear instruction and advice of her older officers also follows her own lines of enquiry because the conditions of Anna's murder aren't what they appear. As the enquiry progresses Denise's fervor for that case leads her to fall off from her older officer, DCI Ferguson.
