Salute Your Shorts
Salute Your Shorts is an American comedy television series that originally aired on Nickelodeon from 1991 to 1992 and in repeats until the beginning of 1999. The film is based on Steve Slavkin's 1986 novel Salute Your Shorts: Life at Summer Camp. Camp Anawant to was the setting for the television series, which was filmed at Franklin Canyon Park and the Griffith Park Boys Camp in Los Angeles' Griffith Park. It focuses on adolescent campers, their harsh and authoritative counselor, and the numerous shenanigans and hilarity in which they engage. The term is derived from a frequent trick that campers pull on each other: a group of children take a boy's boxer shorts and raise them on a flagpole. As a result, other children would salute them when they saw them waving like a flag as part of the hoax.
