American Dreams in China
During the economic reform phase of the 80's, three undergraduates bind with a frequent ambition -- to live the American dream. They are a hillbilly who will not accept his destiny of being a farmer, Cheng Dongqing. Meng Xiaojun, a selfconfident intellectual. An idealistic romantic poet, and Wang Yang. Xiaojun is the first for studying abroad, to ever acquire an US Visa. Yang follows but decides to stay at China due to his cherished. Poor Dongqing is rejected by the US Embassy over Repeatedly. Baffled, he accepts the job but finally becomes fired for teaching tutorial classes . Round the Pacific, Xiaojun fails to find a job and can be compelled to work as a bus boy at a diner.
