Carried Away
Based on the book "Farmer" by Jim Harrison. Joseph Svenden, 47, lives on the family farm with his dying mother and works at a two-room schoolhouse with Rosealee, his sweetheart and the widow of his best friend. Joseph, a high school teacher without a college degree, finds that he will lose his job at the end of the year as the school system expands into his community. Meanwhile, he is tempted by Catherine, a seventeen-year-old newcomer to his class. After having an affair with Catherine and losing his teaching position, Joseph is forced to examine his formerly mundane life and decide how he wishes to live the remainder of it.
