1897. Dead for a Dollar follows seasoned bounty hunter Max Borlund as he travels through Mexico and meets Joe Cribbens, a professional gambler and bandit who Max had sent to prison earlier in his career. The wife of a successful Santa Fe businessman is being held captive, and Borlund is on a quest to rescue her. Max is ultimately left with a choice to make after learning that Mrs. Kidd has truly run away from an abusive marriage: do the dishonest task he's been recruited to do or remain silent while dangerous mercenary outlaws and his longtime nemesis close in. The only thing Max and his comrade Alonzo Poe stand to win from resistance is honor.
