Of Gods and Men
French play based on the 1996 kidnapping and killing of seven monks in Algeria. A group of Trappist monks reside in the monastery of Tibhirine at Algeria, where they are now living in harmony with the largely muslim populace. Every time a bloody conflict between Algeria's army and Muslim Jihadi insurgents disrupts the serenity, they are forced to look at fleeing the monastery along with deserting. In the face of mortal violence that the mothers and their faith and their convictions wrestle , eventually deciding to stay and allow their neighbours maintain the insurgents and also the army at bay.
