The Painter and the Thief
When two of artist Barbora Kysilkova's most precious paintings are taken from a gallery in Frogner, Oslo, the police catch the burglar after a few days, but the paintings are missing. Barbora attends the trial in the hopes of uncovering information, but instead she asks the criminal whether she can paint a portrait of him. This is the beginning of a strange friendship. The cinematic documentary chronicles the remarkable narrative of an artist searching for her stolen paintings while also turning the burglar into art over the course of three years.
