A Resistance
During the time that Japan was colonizing Korea, YU Gwan-sun was put in jail for organizing the March 1 Movement, which was a nonviolent movement that advocated for Korea's independence. YU is unafraid, and she rallies the other prisoners to rebel against Japan. The head of Japanese security is aware of the uprising, so he uses an inmate as bait to discover who is responsible for it and then tortures the inmate to get the information. Later on, Gwan-sun acts as though he is obeying the Japanese authorities while actually conspiring to stage another independence demonstration. This agitation goes beyond the confines of the prison and into the streets; as a result, YU is subjected to cruel and unusual punishment once more. Despite the fact that she passed away two days before she was scheduled to be released, her spirit is now more free and liberated than it has ever been.
