Bloodworth

After forty years of wandering, E.F. Bloodworth has returned to his hometown in Tennessee. His three sons are grown and angry, and the woman he abandoned has wilted and faded. Warren is a womanizing drunkard, Boyd is driven by jealousy to track down his wife and her boyfriend, and Brady uses his mamma's porch to cast hexes on his adversaries. Only the old man's grandson, Fleming, pays him with the deference due to his age, and sees through the hatred to recognize how it may poison a man's soul. Raven Lee, a sloe-eyed beauty from another village, is eventually what gives Fleming the resolve to reject his family's curse.
