Colliding Dreams
We live at a moment in time once the conflict continues to be of overwhelming international political and social importance. From its inception, that conflict has also, naturally, had powerful and troubling consequences for Palestinians and Israelis . The narrative at its most basic level is one that involves two peoples struggling within a small but richly considerable slice of land for expression and federal recognition. The catastrophe of this history, since the Israeli novelist, Amos Oz, and also the scholar, Sari Nusseibeh, have each pointed out, comes from a conflict between the rights of two peoples with equal and valid aspirations to nationhood and self expression at one small territory to which they can lay claim.
