Ghost in the Shell: The New Movie

Set following the finish of a world war in a contemporary Japan, science has progressed by leaps and bounds giving humankind the option. Together with humankind linked into one system of thoughts and personalities called ghosts, the biggest threat to civilization may be that the cyber terrorists capable of hijacking people's memories and bodies. Major Motoko Kusanagi and her group of special operatives are called in to track down its origin, when a virus called Firestarter starts dispersing through the machine resulting in the assassination of their Western Prime Minister. Because they delve deeper and deeper into their analysis, they uncover traces of government corruption and also a broker that bears an all-too-familiar face. The movie is a continuation to the storyline of the Pyrophoric Cult episode of Arise, and ties up loose ends from this arc.
