The movie focuses on, Norman, a world-weary manager of a pier theater in a seaside hotel. Norman has worked in the theatre for all of his life, however will certainly decline that the neighborhood council, which own the theater are preparing to mount even more commercial management in an effort to increase audience numbers. As the tale unfolds he realises it may be time to go on and put behind him the ghost of 50s & 60s singer Alma Cogan, that executed at the theater several years ago. Sandra, his devoted long-suffering assistant and Norman make a decision to leave the theater to fulfill her imagine being a specialist vocalist as well as unexpectedly delighting in a late blossoming romance.
