Mary, Queen of Scots
The last Roman Catholic monarch of Scotland is Mary Stuart, who was named Queen of Scotland when she was just six days old. At the age of23, she is imprisoned by her cousin Elizabeth Tudor, the English Queen and her arch-enemy. Mary's life will be ended on the scaffold nineteen years later, and with her execution, the last challenge to Elizabeth's monarchy will be erased. With their opposing personalities, the two Queens provide a dramatic counterweight to history.
