Memories of Me
Abbie Polin (Crystal), a New York doctor, travels to Los Angeles to see his father, Abe (Lord), the "king of the extras," who works in Hollywood. For some years, their relationship has been tense. Henry Winkler's debut picture, much of it was shot at the MGM Studios in Culver City, California, just a few miles from Hollywood. Lisa, Abbie's romantic interest, also pays Abbie a visit and bonds with Abe, who is famed for getting along with everyone except his son. Abe begins to lose his memory and is later diagnosed with a brain aneurysm. He and his son become closer over time, and Abbie tries to obtain Abe a speaking role in a film before it's too late.
