Move Over, Darling
Nicholas Arden and Ellen Wagstaff Arden are on a plane that crashes in the South Pacific three years into their love marriage, with two infant girls at home in Los Angeles. While the majority of passengers survive the event, Ellen is likely killed when her lifeboat is washed away and her body is never recovered. Take a five-year retrospective. Nicky seeks to get Ellen proclaimed legally deceased in order to go on with his life. Moving on entails remarrying, this time to a young woman called Bianca Steele, whom he intends to take on their honeymoon to the same Monterrey resort where he and Ellen honeymooned. Ellen is dropped off in Los Angeles that same day by the Navy, which rescued her from a South Pacific island where she had been stranded for five years. She requests that the Navy not publish or notify Nicky of her rescue, as she wishes to do so herself.
