My Kingdom

In the nineteenth century, the Qing Dynasty's Prince Regent orders the wholesale execution of the Meng clan. Before being beheaded, the leader promises that his family will exact vengeance for this injustice. A five-year-old Meng child named Erkui valiantly sings an aria while awaiting his fate. Master Yu and his seven-year-old student Guan Yilong are moved by the strength and purity of his voice. The two orphans become brothers after Master Yu rescues the boy. Years later, Master Yu obtains the coveted golden "The Mightiest Warrior" plaque from the Prince Regent, only to lose it in a duel to his bitter rival, Master Yue. Master Yu, exiled from the stage following his defeat, trains the two brothers in the village. When the boys become men, they travel to Shanghai to exact vengeance. Once they reach Shanghai, they quickly overcome Master Yue, capturing both the plaque and Yue's opera group.
