Royal Opera House: The Sleeping Beauty
The Resting Beauty holds an unique location in The Royal Dancing's repertory. It was the ballet with which the Company resumed the Royal Music hall in 1946 after World War II, its first production at its brand-new home in Covent Garden. Margot Fonteyn danced the function of the beautiful Princess Aurora in the first performance, with Robert Helpmann as Royal Prince Florimund. Sixty years later, in 2006, the original 1946 hosting was restored already Director of The Royal Dancing Monica Mason as well as Christopher Newton, returning Oliver Messel's remarkable styles and also glimmering outfits to the stage.
