The Emperor in August
In July 1945, during completion of The second world war, Japan is compelled to accept the Potsdam Declaration. A closet meeting has continued via night and day, but a choice can not be made. The U.S. drops atomic bombs on the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Japan. General Korechika Anami is torn over making the correct choice as well as the Emperor of Japan stresses over his people. Prime Minister Kantaro Suzuki leads the cabinet conference, while Principal Secretary Hisatsune Sakomizu can not do anything, but view the meeting. Currently, Major Kenji Hatanaka and various other young appointed police officers, that are against Japan surrendering, move to inhabit the royal residence and a radio broadcasting station. The radio station is readied to transmit Emperor Hirohito reading out the Imperial Rescript on the Termination of the War.
