The Island of Lies

Galicia, in the northern part of Spain, the 2nd of January 1921. The steamship Santa Isabel, which was headed to Argentina and had more than two hundred emigrants on board, went down in the waters off the shore of the island of Sálvora. Three island women, Maria, Josefa, and Cipriana, who courageously set sail aboard a fragile skiff to save the shipwrecked are treated as heroes by the cynical authorities. However, León, an inquisitive and tenacious Argentinian journalist, starts asking questions that are unsettling and embarrassing for the women.
