The Sanctity of Space
Seventy-five years after Brad Washburn, one of the greatest aerial mountain photographers of all time, took the first photograph of Alaska's Denali Mountain from an open door of an airplane, climbing buddies Renan Ozturk, Freddie Wilkinson, and Zack Smith look at some of his mountain photographs and come up with this crazy idea. Rather of going up, their dream is to slide sideways— across the Moose's Tooth massif, one of the range's most ominous peaks. It's a brand-new approach to discover the same landscape that Washburn did. The group's goal to be the first to complete the daring route evolves into an obsession as they suffer harsh circumstances, deteriorating ropes, and continuous rockfall. When Renan suffers a near-fatal brain injury, however, friendships begin to unravel, forcing all three partners to determine what's most important to them.
