Originally released in 1967, this film was made to commemorate the book's 50th anniversary of publication. This stunning film, which was shot entirely in Romania, including in the actual prison where Pastor Wurmbrand was tortured and held in solitary confinement, tells the narrative in a way that no other film has done before: through live action rather than interviews. For the sake of maintaining the authenticity of this true story, the dialogue is provided in three languages: English, Romanian, and Russian (with English subtitles).
