G.B.H.
GBH was a tv movie written by Alan Bleasdale shown on Channel 4 at the summer of 1991. The protagonists were the Militant Labour pioneer of a city council at the North of England Michael Murray the headmaster of a school for children, and also Jim Nelson.
The series was controversial partly because Murray appeared to be based on Derek Hatton, former Deputy Leader of Liverpool City Council -- at a meeting at the G.B.H. DVD Bleasdale recounts a casual interview with Hatton before the collection, that indicates he has caught wind of Bleasdale's intentions but does not mind for as long as the actor playing is"handsome".
In normal parlance, the initials"GBH" reference the offender complaint of grievous bodily harm - howeverthe actual intent of these letters is it is assumed to endure for Great British Holiday.
