Kavanagh QC
Throughout the years 1995 to 2001, Central Television produced the British television program Kavanagh QC for ITV. It frequently airs on ITV3, and seasons 1-6 are available on Region 2 DVDs. A working-class boy from Bolton, Greater Manchester, John Thaw played the barrister James Kavanagh QC in the television series. This is only learned in later episodes as his parents' health declines and during a conversation with a coworker who assumed Kavanagh was truly a Yorkshireman. The show focused on his legal challenges as well as his personal dramas, such as the passing of his loyal and adoring wife. In the future, he starts dating another lawyer. In court, Kavanagh typically appears to be representing a client who, up until a turn in the case, appeared destined to be found guilty. However, on occasion, Kavanagh is seen in a prosecuting capacity. Kavanagh frequently confronts cases with a subtext of racism, sexism, or other discrimination in the main plot. In supporting stories, humor was provided by Jeremy, a pretentious barrister in chambers, for his conceit and egotism. Threats or bribes from people he is competing with in court are never used to intimidate Kavanagh because he will not stand for injustice.
