My Super Sweet 16
My Super Sweet 16 is an MTV reality show that follows the lives of teenagers from the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom who have wealthy parents and organize extravagant coming-of-age parties. Quinceaneras, sweet sixteens, and other birthdays, such as My Super Sweet 21 and My Super Swag18, are among the celebrations. On January18,2005, the series debuted. Hilary Duff performs the opening theme, "Sweet Sixteen." Several celebrity coming-of-age parties have been featured on the show. The show has featured parties hosted by Bow Wow, Sean Kingston, Aly and AJ, Chris Brown, and Soulja Boy Tell Em. A Spanish version titled "Quiero mis quinces" or "Super Dulces16" was developed by MTV, as well as a UK version. Exiled, a spinoff from MTV, premiered in 2008. On the show, a number of parents of My Super Sweet 16 contestants send their teenagers to far-flung locations to see if their "sweet sixteener" can withstand the difficult conditions. In2009, MTV announced the release of My Super Psycho Sweet16, a horror film based on the concept of the show that premiered on October23,2009, and starred Julianna Guill.
