Robot Wars
Robot Wars has been a British game series modelled onto a US-based competition of the same name. It had been broadcast on BBC 2 from 1998 until 2003, using its final series broadcast on Channel 5 in 2003 and 2004. Additional show were filmed for certain industries of the global market, for example two series of Robot Wars Extreme Warriors together with U.S. competitions for its TNN network, and two of Deadly Robot Wars for distribution in the Netherlands. The fourth series of the UK Robot Wars has been introduced about TNN as Robot Wars: Grand Champions in 2002, and hosted by Joanie Laurer. In 2003, the roboteers themselves formed continue and The Fighting Robot Association on participating in contests for new audiences.
The series involved teams of professional and amateur roboteers who made their robots to fight each other in the friendly and tournament matches. As well as fighting eachother, they had in order to avert the"House Robots", that weren't bound by precisely the identical weapon or weight limits as the contestants. Robot Wars had audiences of 4 thousand, and has been powerful in its merchandising.
