The Dead Zone
The Dead Zone, aka Stephen King's Dead Zone was an American-Canadian science fiction/suspense series starring Anthony Michael Hall as Johnny Smith, who finds he has developed psychic abilities following having a coma. The show, credited as"based on characters" from Stephen King's 1979 novel of the exact same name, first aired in 2002, also was produced by Lionsgate Television and CBS Paramount Network Television for the USA Network.
The show was initially commissioned for UPN, however the network dropped the show and it had been picked up rather than USA. The show was filmed for the initial five seasons in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The first and sixth season was billed as"the summer season that changes everything" and production was moved to Montreal.
The Dead Zone was likely to be renewed for a seventh season, however because of low ratings and high production cost the show was canceled in December 2007, without a series finale.
A few rumors spread that Syfy would pick up the string after it had been canceled by USA, however it didn't happen. Rumors of a movie that was made for TV have faded with time.
