The Rocky and Bullwinkle Show
The Rocky & Bullwinkle Show is an animated American TV show that ran from November 19, 1959, to June 27, 1964, on both the ABC and NBC networks. The show is made by Jay Ward Productions and is set up like a variety show. The main focus is on the adventures of the two main characters, Bullwinkle the anthropomorphic moose and Rocky the flying squirrel. In most of their adventures, the Russian-looking spies Boris Badenov and Natasha Fatale are their main foes. Some of the supporting segments are Dudley Do-Right, Peabody's Unlikely History, and Fractured Fairy Tales. Rocky and Bullwinkle is known for its good writing and sarcastic sense of humor. It was funny for both kids and adults because it had puns, satire of culture and current events, and jokes about itself. It was also one of the first cartoons whose animation was done by a company outside of the United States. Storyboards were sent to Gamma Productions, a Mexican studio that Total Television also used. So, the art looks rough and unfinished, and the animation is very limited, even by the standards of TV animation. But people who have seen the series have always thought it was good. Some critics said it was like a well-written radio show with pictures.
